Cnr scientific council: call for international members

An 'International call for members of the scientific council of the Cnr' is published by the selection committee appointed by the Italian National Research Council (Cnr). The call is addressed to international as well as national experts.

The scientific council will be composed  by ten experts chosen amongst prominent scientists with the appropriate international qualification profile level irrespective of their nationality or country of residence. Members  will  be chosen to cover the  main  Cnr  scientific  domains. Among the ten members, two should come from the Cnr scientific community.

The council has the duty of proposing strategic issues and give advice on planning  and programming of scientific activities of Cnr, reporting to the President and the Board of Directors.

Applicants should have proven experience and expertise within at least one of the following scientific domains: biotechnologies; medical science and technology; earth and environment science and technology; information and communication science and technology; productive systems science technology; law and socio-economic sciences; humanities and cultural heritage.

Scientific committee meetings will be held approximately every forty days, eventually through videoconference. Analysis and reports could be produced more frequently, as required from the Board or by the President. Deadline for application is February 26, 2012.
