Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice (Sicily) will host the National School of the Physics of the Matter from July 26 to August 7, 2011.
The school, organized by Cnr-Institute of Nanoscience and Cnr-Department of Materials and Devices, intends to summarize some of the developments in the field of quantum phenomena in graphene, topological insulators and cold atoms in optical lattices, and explore possible practical applications.
The main topics addressed will be: physics and applications of grapheme; condensates of cold atoms in optical lattices and excitons in two-dimensional semiconductors; strong correlations in low-dimensional systems. Deadline for applications is May 1, 2011.
Students and researchers interested in participating in the School are invited to apply through the web page www.nano.cnr.it/NSPM2011/.
Acceptance to the School will be communicated in May 2011.
