Erc: 5 years of achievements   

High level representatives from the European and Italian research communities will gather on 25-26 in Rome, at Cnr, in order to highlight the role of the European Research Council (Erc). The conference will focus on Erc's achievements in the last five years and look forward to its future under Horizon 2020, the European Commission's framework programme for research and innovation (2014-20).

Erc President, Helga Nowotny and the Italian Minister for Research, Francesco Profumo, will participate in the roundtable discussion, which will highlight the Erc's crucial role in funding excellent frontier research.

On June 25 a special training session on dissemination of research results and grant management will take place. This is aimed at researchers, working both in Italy and elsewhere in Europe, who are funded by the Erc. A press conference will take place at 13:30.

On June 26, the Erc will also present the new calls which will be made public in July 2012, and will inform participants about its funding opportunities for excellent researchers, at the Italian National Information Day.
